What To Expect When You Are Expecting- Third Trimester

Previously, we discussed what to expect in your first trimester and the second trimester. During the third trimester, you can visit a 4D baby scan clinic to see your baby almost fully formed and his or her movements. The third trimester is the best time to have a 4D baby scan. So, get to know what other things you can expect in your third trimester during pregnancy.

Abdominal Achiness

Your bump grows out the most in the third trimester. To support your growing bump, your round ligaments will stretch to support your lower abdomen. This will make you feel cramps or sharp pain from time to time. You will not be able to do much other than taking a lot of rest or sitting down.

Fatigue

One of the consistent things of the third trimester is feeling tired all the time. The best thing to do is eat well and frequently, stay active and solve pregnancy sleep problems.

Heartburn

Heartburn is quite common too during the third trimester. It happens when your uterus due to its big size will push all the contents of the stomach upward, causing that persistent burn. Talk to your doctor if it’s bothering you very much during your visit to 4D baby scan clinic. Try to eat very small meals so that you can digest quickly.

Braxton Hicks Contractions

Also known as fake labour, this is your body’s way of preparing for labour. You will start to feel these irregular practice contractions towards the end of the third trimester until real labour starts.

Varicose Veins

You may notice these bulging veins including haemorrhoids, which are actually a type of varicose vein in your lower body due to all of the extra blood you’re pumping. The good news is if you didn’t have them before pregnancy, they will most likely disappear after you deliver.

Backache

As the pregnancy hormone relaxant loosens your joints and your growing belly pulls your centre of gravity forward, you may start to have an achy back. A very definitive reason to put your feet up. Sharp, shooting pain from your back down your legs, on the other hand, maybe a sign of sciatica.

Crazy Dreams

Your dreams may be more vivid than ever as you near your due date due to pregnancy hormones. They are mostly going to be totally normal. Nothing to worry about too much.

These are some of the physical changes that you will go through. If for some reason, you become very uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to contact your doctor. Your 4D baby scan clinic will also help you with any problems you might have during this time.
